Sandra Benčić worked for many years as an activist for the protection of human rights and gender equality in civil society. She is a member of the Center for Peace Studies, where she worked until 2018, mostly on the topics of inequality, asylum and migration.

In the “second” part of her life, she dealt with regional development and EU funds; she is the founder of one of the first consulting companies for EU funds (Razbor), she was a lecturer in Algebra and an external expert of the Council of Europe on freedom of speech. She is one of the founders and a former member of the foundation board of the Solidarna foundation, and she acted as a member of the Commission for Handling Complaints in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Council for the Development of Civil Society.

She has been active in the Možemo! political platform since its foundation, and is currently one of the party’s coordinators.

As a member of the Parliament, Sandra Benčić is the president of the Green Left Block Club, as well as the president of the Committee for the Protection of Environment and Nature and a member of the Committee for the Constitution, Rules of Procedure and the Political System.
