Jelena Dunato

Jelena Dunato is an art historian, curator, speculative fiction writer and lover of all things ancient.

Jelena’s stories have been published in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, The Dark, Future SF and Mermaids Monthly, among others. Her first novel in Croatian, Šikara, was published in 2019. Her debut novel in English, Dark Woods, Deep Water, was published in September 2023. She is a member of SFWA and Codex.

Jelena lives on an island in the Adriatic with her husband, daughter and cat. She runs a local museum. Her new work, Ghost Apparent, will be published in September 2024.
