The Rich Program of the Second Women’s Weekend is Reveled

Women's Weekend Unveils Important Topics and Exciting Entertainment with Matija Cvek

Just three weeks remain until the second edition of Women’s Weekend, a conference celebrating the strength, inspiration, and connectivity of women in the region and worldwide. The program, now available on the Women’s Weekend website, covers a range of compelling topics relevant to contemporary women’s lives. From navigating the upbringing of children in the Balkans to exploring the dominance of women in the communication industry juxtaposed with the male-dominated tech sector, attendees will engage in discussions that touch upon the core of gender dynamics. The event, scheduled from March 7th to 10th at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Art Quarter in Rijeka, promises an enriching experience. Participants will delve into essential issues such as gender equality in business, financial literacy, leadership, and personal development.

One of the key discussions will revolve around the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles and the persistent gender pay gap, featuring insights from prominent figures like Irena Weber, Chief Executive Officer of HUP, Ivana Marković, Chief Executive Officer for Private Customers Segment at A1, and Helena Schmidt, Partner in the Tax Department at Deloitte. Additionally, the impact of the Me Too movement on women’s equality and the perspectives of younger generations will be explored in-depth on the “GenZ & Me Too” panel. Esteemed panelists including influencer Nika Ilčić, actress and activist Milena Radulović, and Nika Kovač, Slovenian activist and sociologist, will share their insights and experiences. The Women’s Weekend promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring gathering, offering attendees the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and gain valuable insights into pressing issues facing women today.

Alongside the inspiring Lisa Carmen Wang, making her debut appearance in Croatia and specifically in Rijeka, to share her story and life lessons from her bestseller “The Bad Bitch Business Bible,” Women’s Weekend will explore topics that still aren’t discussed loudly enough. An open panel discussion awaits at the “Let’s Talk About Sex” panel, while the challenges of menopause for women in the prime of their careers will be addressed in the “Menopause Buzz – Embracing My Best Years” panel. The issue of menstrual poverty, a key factor perpetuating gender inequality, will be tackled in the “V for Vagina” panel. We’ll engage in candid discussions about motherhood at the “Motherhood 2.0” panel, featuring actress and doula Dea Maria Računica, entrepreneur Andrea Načinović, psychologist Ana Čerenšek, and university professor Milica Czerny Urban. Women’s Weekend will also welcome beloved journalists Mojmira Pastorčić and Danka Derifaj, alongside manager Anita Letica, hosts Barbara Kolar and Ida Prester, as well as sociologist Bruno Šimleša.

The conference dedicated to empowering women and promoting equality starts on Thursday, March 7th, with lectures organized by the Representation of the European Commission in Croatia, the Europe Direct Center, and the University of Rijeka. Entry will be free for all visitors. And that’s just the beginning! The Women’s Weekend will also feature fantastic entertainment, kicking off with an unforgettable opening party hosted by Matija Cvek & Funkensteins on the first day.
