Doctor of genomic medicine

Dr. Staša Stanković is a doctor of reproductive genomic medicine at the University of Cambridge. Her work is focused on deciphering the genetics of reproductive ageing, fertility and menopause, as well as their impact on diseases in women, including osteoporosis, tumours, etc. The scientific team at Cambridge was the first to prove that by manipulating genes with the help of the most advanced genetic methods, it is possible to extend reproductive life, postpone menopause and improve fertility in women. Staša and her colleagues are using these revolutionary discoveries for the commercial development of tests for predicting fertility and the onset of menopause, as well as ‘new generation’ therapies for reproductive diseases.

Staša also works as a consultant on the creation of digitization and innovation strategies for leading pharmaceutical institutions. Based on her impact on innovation in women’s health, she has received numerous awards, including: ‘McKinsey & Company Next Generation Women Leader’ and the Best Young Researcher Under 40 by the International Menopause Society. She was selected as one of the UK’s top ten young scientists in the biomedical sector by the Government of Great Britain, and was named as one of the 11 scientists with the greatest influence on innovations in menopause and women’s health by Forbes.
