Martina Pernar Škunca

Martina Pernar Škunca has distinguished herself in the field of marketing and promotion of traditional food products, particularly Pag cheese – one of Croatia’s most renowned and authentic delicacies.

She works as Marketing Manager at Paška sirana, one of the leading producers of Pag cheese on the island of Pag, Croatia. Through her work, she plays a key role in shaping the brand and visibility of this iconic product.

Martina is the President of the Association of Pag Cheese Producers, which brings together local producers and works to preserve, promote, and strengthen the quality and recognition of this traditional product.

Actively engaged in her community and the agricultural sector, she is a member of the Women’s Committee of the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture, where she contributes to initiatives aimed at empowering women in agriculture.

She has taken part in an EU business delegation to Brazil, representing Croatian Pag cheese producers and the broader agri-food interests of the European Union on an international stage.

Martina was also featured as an inspiring participant in the National Geographic traveling photo exhibition “Women – A Century of Change,” highlighting her role as a woman contributing to the development and preservation of traditional and regional products. She has received the

Golden Charter of Sunflower of Rural Tourism in the category “Women in Rural Tourism,” as well as the City of Pag Award for Promotion.

She is also a co-founder of the association Women for the Island of Pag, established following the model of the Women for the Island initiative from Krk.

Overall, Martina is widely recognized as a passionate and vocal advocate of Pag cheese and Croatian indigenous products, with extensive experience in marketing and international promotion of her region’s гастрономски brand.
