Helena Schmidt

Helena is a Partner in the Tax Department, and as of July 2023, she was appointed as the Country Leader of Deloitte’s Croatian office. She is responsible for the organization and further development of the Croatian office. In Deloitte’s Tax Department, she leads the indirect tax group and the business processing outsourcing group. With over 20 years of experience in taxes, including profit tax, income tax, as well as other areas of Croatian and international tax practice, Helena has assisted clients in processes such as VAT refund and VAT registration, the organization of supply chains from a tax perspective, and provided support to clients during tax audits. She has also participated in the review of tax processes for taxpayers. Her clients span various industrial sectors.

Helena holds a degree in economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Zagreb and has an EMBA from the Cotrugli Business School. She is regularly listed in Global Indirect Tax Leaders’ guide by International Tax Review. Before joining Deloitte in 2003, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is also the leader of Deloitte’s regional SheXO initiative, aiming to encourage diversity in various management areas and structures within the organization.
