Ironwoman

Đurđica Orepić was born in Rab in 1964. and has been a private entrepreneur for 33 years, owner of optic shops in Poreč and Rovinj. She is a mother of three and has recently became a grandmother.

She was never an active athlete until she was 47 years old. Her journey begins after accepting a bet to run a marathon, which has resulted as her becoming a full Ironman conqueror – 226 km in her 50th.

In 2015, the documentary film “Ironwoman” was filmed about her, and thus she became a great motivation for women in the entire region of all age groups with the slogan “it’s never too late to achieve a goal”. He performs throughout the region on many sports and motivational panels, receives numerous recognitions and awards for his achievements.

In 9 years, she successfully completed about thirty triathlon races, in (length Olympic and IM70.3) and 11 full Ironman races (of which she was on the IM podium six times) and three performances at the prestigious, hardest race in the world, the World Championship Ironman in Hawaii, where only the best in the category come.

In 2021 and 2022, she finished first on the world ranking list, AWA, out of 1650 women from all over the world in the age category of 55 to 59 years. This year, she was awarded the County of Istrian Istriana award, the County’s highest annual award in the category of Sports, men and women.
