Biljana Borzan is a Croatian politician and long-serving Member of the European Parliament. She was first elected in 2013 and has been re-elected in 2014, 2019, and 2024, establishing herself as one of the most active Croatian MEPs.

In the European Parliament, she has been particularly recognized for her work on consumer protection, public health, and social rights. In 2018, she received the MEP Award—often called the “EU Oscar”—for her outstanding work in the field of women’s rights and gender equality.

Borzan is known for initiatives aimed at combating unfair business practices, protecting citizens from misleading marketing, and strengthening food and product quality standards in the European market. In her current term, she is also focused on the rights of children and minors online.
