How have women’s voices brought about a revolution in aesthetic surgery? Innovations in aesthetic medicine presented at Women’s Weekend

At this year’s Women’s Weekend, the most significant festival dedicated to women, a panel discussion titled How Women’s Voices Are Reshaping Breast Aesthetics powered by Mia Femtech™ was held. The panel, which presented femtech innovations and research on women’s desires, featured Sonsoles Carrillo López, PR & Communication Manager at Mia Femtech™ and dr.med. Igor Višnjar, renowned plastic surgeon from Klinika Višnjar.

“All branches of medicine are moving toward less invasive procedures, including aesthetic surgery. Once it was unimaginable to perform heart surgeries without opening the chest, but today such procedures are standard. Why shouldn’t the same apply to aesthetic procedures?” asked dr. med. Višnjar and added that traditional breast augmentation often involves general anesthesia, a two-hour procedure, incisions under the breast, and lengthy recovery. However, the innovative MIA method allows women to undergo the procedure quickly, without a long stay at the clinic, and with more natural results.

What do women actually want?

And how was this revolutionary method developed? Based on research conducted by Mia Femtech, involving 16,000 women, the key factors preventing them from deciding on the procedure were fear of general anesthesia, long recovery, and unnatural results. Sonsoles Carrillo López emphasized that this is precisely why MIA was designed – a solution tailored to women’s real needs.

“This is not a procedure for women who want drastic changes. The goal is subtle correction, for example after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or natural volume loss due to aging. More and more women are seeking natural results, and MIA enables this in a discreet way,” explained Sonsoles Carrillo López.

The panelists also highlighted that breast aesthetics is increasingly turning toward natural appearance and proportionality.

“This is not a classic breast augmentation operation – this is beautification, or enhancement of natural beauty. There’s no exaggeration with volume, no unnatural shapes – the goal is harmonization of the body,” added dr. med. Višnjar.

A new era of aesthetic surgery – a less painful and more natural approach

“With the MIA method, we use special implants that are so soft they can be placed above the muscle without cutting muscle tissue and nerves. Thanks to this, there is no lengthy recovery – patients can perform daily activities the very next day,” added dr. med. Višnjar and noted that results are visible immediately, and women feel more confident and happier after the procedure.

Social media and unrealistic beauty standards

During the discussion, the topic of social media’s influence on women’s perception of beauty and self-confidence was also addressed. Dr. med. Višnjar, who is the father of an eight-year-old girl, reflected on the challenges posed by unrealistic beauty standards on Instagram and TikTok.

“Today, young girls are not only competing with real people but also with AI-generated images and filters that depict perfection that doesn’t exist. It is our responsibility as parents and society to teach them real values and make them aware that natural beauty is what should be appreciated,” said dr. med. Višnjar, to which Sonsoles Carrillo López added.

“This is a procedure that women do for themselves, not because of social beauty standards. That’s what MIA represents – minimally invasive aesthetics that provides subtle changes and maximum self-confidence,” concluded Sonsoles Carrillo López.

Revolution in the approach to aesthetic procedures

The conclusion of the panel was clear – the future of breast aesthetic surgery lies in safer, less invasive, and more natural methods. Women are increasingly seeking solutions that respect their anatomy, don’t require long recovery, and don’t leave visible scars.

Women’s Weekend once again showed how women’s needs are at the focus of innovations – this time in the field of breast aesthetic surgery. The panel opened important questions and provided answers to the dilemmas of many women, proving that beauty is not in drastic changes, but in gentle adjustments that restore women’s confidence in their own bodies.
